FOR BEST RESULTS FOLLOW THESE STEPS:

Strive is a general use product. We have tested and seen incredible results across all mediums. Strive was built around hydroponics, but any hydroponic fertilizer if properly made will work well on soil too.

With soil you just would not want to feed every time, you would want some fresh water going in now and again.

We suggest starting at ½ strength and seeing how your plants react.. If you see burnt tips you may want to pull back a bit on strength, if you see they are liking it you could try a bit more.

You would almost be using Strive as a “booster” of sorts.

If you are using living soil, it “should” come with everything needed to at least start the plants.

The thing with living soil is, after some time your plant will eat up certain nutrients causing it to need them to be replenished.

Depending on the quality of the super soil, this could be as early as late veg, early flower, or with a super high quality soil not till mid or late flower.

Strive won’t hurt your microbial properties within the soil you have created, and will only add beneficial nutrients as they are depleted.

Strive is a great additive in this case. We don’t recommend feeding at full strength every watering, but certainly using it as a boost when needed, or proactively using it when into flower to make sure your plants are getting what they need.

Strive will work on both autos and photoperiod plants. We have seen great success with autos and Strive as documented on some of our clients social media accounts.

One thing to note is that sometimes autos don’t respond well to full strength nutrients. We suggest starting at a 50% strength dosage and working up from there, watching how your plants react.

Strive was built for hydroponics.

It is an extremely water soluble powder that dissolves with ease, won’t clog or gum up your lines, and can be topped up without issues.

We have personally tested it with outstanding results in Coco DTW, Flood and drains in Promix, and DWC..

Clients with every other hydroponic system imaginable have been sending us photos and updates, and we have not heard anything negative about the effects of Strive with any of their hydroponic systems.

Strive works fantastic in coco, I personally think this is where growers see the best results.

We have tested, and seen incredible results across all mediums, but coco always kills it.

Strive was built around hydroponics, in other words “soilless” mixtures.. Coco is a prime example of this.

In fact, one of our ambassadors has been using Strive for over a year now in coco and has seen incredible results.

The amazing thing about Strive is that it is fully customizable for the advanced grower. I'll explain further...

Part B is primarily Nitrogen and Calcium. This means that in Veg, and even the first week of Flower, you can hit them with a little extra Part B to give them that N and Ca boost they need.

It goes without saying, but this of course means that at any time if they look a little hungry for N or Ca you can hit them with a bit extra B. If they are looking light in color in veg or start of flower hit them with some extra.

Part A is high in PK and all the micros but still has enough N to get by late in flower. Coming into week 5 or 6 of flower I will personally start to lower B and raise A. Some strains I will give them just a really good shot of 1000ppm of just A to kick off heavy flower set, this has had adverse effects on some plants.. others love it. It's very strain dependent.

For a new strain when I hit week 5 I will lower part B by 10% and increase A as needed to hit my target PPM. I'll continue this trend until the end of flower when sometimes I have reduced B by 50%.. I watch my plants and if I see them looking hungry for N or Ca I will go back to regular full strength for a couple of waterings.

Keep in mind that I have been using this product for years and am an expert in it. I am also very good at reading plants and their very early signs of issues so I am able to adjust and correct before anything major.

With any new product there is learning involved.. but after 2 or 3 runs you will have this absolutely nailed down I'm sure.

Does that all make sense?

It’s hard to predict how long Strive will last without knowing your watering schedule.

Some people will have 1 large plant in a 4x4 tent, while others could have 30 in the same space. Some growers veg longer than others, have bigger gardens, etc.

What we can do, if you are interested, is take a look at how much water you use on a weekly basis and we can figure out how much Strive you would need to get through a full grow.

Good growing practice would be to water plants with a fresh batch of nutrients every time.

Of course, most growers don't do this as it is a lot of work and a lot of nutrients. I actually keep a stock tank myself and don’t follow my own advice 😂

But so far all the large growers we deal with would rather just pay full price then do take the time to do this.

That said, whether it’s 50 plants in a tent, or 500 plants in the basement the results will be the same, right?

Here's the thing.. "Big Fertilizer" has convinced us that we need to buy multiple products, additives, boosters, cal-mag etc... but ask yourself.. Why would they just not put enough calcium and magnesium in their nutrients in the first place?

The answer is they want you to NEED it, and buy it..

I'll admit, 10 years ago I would walk into my local hydro shop in the east end of Ottawa, and walk out with General Hydroponics FULL line.. 12+ bottles mixing like a chemist in my basement and always still having issues and deficiencies.

Now.. let's be logical here.. Our plants require about 16 macro/micro nutrients total to thrive.

Let's focus on the macros, NPK, right now just to make things simple. There is an ideal NPK for cannabis..

When mixed, your nutrient solution should have about 150ppm of N, and the rest fall in line.. but... why would you need 7 different bottles to do this? It's all just Nitrogen... why does one bottle have 15ppm.. the next, 80ppm... the next 10ppm and.. well you get the idea.. Why not have it all in the first bottle?

Again, the answer is they want you to buy more.

The reason we have 2 parts as opposed to a single bag product is because certain ingredients do not play nice in the same package, also with the 2 parts you can adjust the ratio yourself, although that is a little more advanced.

Combining our 2 packs following our mixing ratio gets you the EXACT amount of all 16 elements your plants need.

We are growers ourselves and have seen other companies provide misinformation for too long.

In the end we leave this up to the growers.. Some of our customers still use boosters and see great results, we always suggest listening to the plants.

If you add the boosters and see they are working well and the plants are happy then great! But if you see any weird behavior we suggest stopping them right away.

With a proper run off you will be able to feed every time. We recommend 20% run off (I personally do 30% and everyone thinks I'm crazy!).

Problems occur when the PH and PPM of the growing medium changes over time.. This happens when leftover nutes remain behind causing an improper balance..

By running a bit through you flush out the old and allow the new to set it.

Some growers like a “Feed-Feed-Water” but that’s a personal preference. We suggest listening to the plants..

If you see burnt tips, ease back.. If you see they are light in color or any sign of a deficiency, bump up the feed a bit.

Strive has more than enough Calcium and Magnesium in it. Products like Cal-Mag were created by other companies who purposely don’t make their formula strong enough, knowing you will see issues and ultimately be “sold” a solution.

We don’t play these games. Even for those growing with RO water, you will have more than enough macro, secondary, and micronutrients with Strive.

Remember though, all the pros will add back their tap/well water to their RO and bring it to 50ppm to stabilize it and avoid internal root zone PH swings.

The simple answer is yes, Strive will work excellent in autopots. The main thing that needs to be cared for is the res/stock tank that holds the nutrients.

A: Coming from the factory, in a completely dry environment before being exposed to any air, moisture, humidity, etc… here are the weights

Part A: 15ml = 13 grams
Part B: 6.5ml = 6.5 grams

As soon as the bag is opened and exposed to moisture in the air that could change things.

We strongly encourage mixing in ML with a measuring spoon easily ordered on amazon or from any Dollar Store.

Hygrozyme, like other natural beneficial microbial products, are essentially beneficial enzymes that prevent root rot by accelerating the breakdown of dead root matter.

These products will not have any interaction with Strive. Normally we ask that growers avoid using additives with Strive, but this is more so about NPK products like Cal-Mag.

Microbial products will still do their job, and will not cause any issues with Strive.

A: Strive goes against a lot of conventional thinking that we learned over the years, mainly from salesmen at the hydro shop.

The thing with plants is they absorb what they need. As long as you are getting a good run off and giving them enough of each element, they will pick up what they need and leave the rest behind. Nutrient build up and deficiencies come mainly from improper PH and not giving a good run off.

One thing I would like to point out, and this will make total sense when you think about it… organic growers using super soil do not take out their plants when they flip to flower, shake off the roots, and make a whole new soil mix! They use the same mix all the way through, right?

Going back in time to when cannabis was growing wild in the ground.. Mother nature did not change the composition of the earth towards the end of every summer strictly so her cannabis plants would flower, nor did she change what is in the rain on the exact day she lowered her sunlight hours!

You see, cannabis along with all plants are designed by nature to absorb what they need from the earth and leave out what they do not want. As long as enough of what they need is available they will thrive.

That said, the beauty with Strive is you can adjust the ratio slightly in order to give your plants a bit of a boost if that’s what you’re looking for.

Part A is low in N and high in PK, whereas Part B is high in N and Ca. In veg you could increase Part B slightly to give the boost of Nitrogen and Calcium they crave to get going, and mid to late flower you could increase Part A to give that bit of a PK boost when the plants won't be absorbing the N anyways.

Re-using coco is a great idea.. You probably know this but the only thing that would affect how Strive works is if it wasn’t flushed out properly.

If you clean it well with no remnants left behind you can re-use it until it basically decinigrates. Just make sure to run a bit of water through it and test the first 50ml of runoff to make sure it’s clean.

A lot of people ask if Strive is “Organic”

When we are discussing whether Strive is “Organic” or not, we first need to understand a little about the organic industry, and where our nutrients come from.

Organic became a buzzword over the last couple of decades with growers who are looking to keep chemicals away from their plants, with good reason. True organic would be classified as a breakdown of organic elements to create a soil, think of a compost pile.

Then of course became the ability to profit off of this term. Now, nearly any company can pay enough and have a “certified organic” label. There isn’t much more than money needed to have this certification.. This is something we consider a deceptive tactic and we will not participate in.

Now, let’s look at Strive. Strive is the product of mineral salts that are extracted from mined ore. This means that all ingredients in Strive are naturally removed from the earth, processed with nothing added, and blended together. Technically speaking this would by definition make Strive “organic” and we could pay hundreds of thousands of dollars for that label, but we feel that isn’t necessary and our clients are savvy enough to realize it.

None of our elements are produced synthetically in a lab. Simple as that. Never have been and never will be. We are growers too.

Strive does not include any ingredients that will perish over time. Strive is the product of mineral salts that are extracted from mined ore.

This means that all ingredients in Strive are naturally removed from the earth, processed with nothing added, and blended together.

This also means that Strive could sit on the shelf for months or years and never go bad.

Strive has been formulated and tested not to need any additives and does not contain any silica.

Now, usually when we are speaking about additives we are thinking about NPK products like Cal-Mag or other boosters..

A product like Silica “shouldn’t” interact with Strive.. But there is so much more to nutrient interactions than one might think.

It can depend on your base water, the temperature, even down to the strain and how that specific strain's rootzone interacts with nutrients.

In the end we leave this up to the growers.. Some of our customers still use boosters and see great results, we always suggest listening to the plants.

If you add the boosters and see they are working well and the plants are happy then great! But if you see any weird behavior we suggest stopping them right away.

Normally our Large combo would be 1kg A and 500g B, and our small combo would be 500g and 250g B..

We use what's called a “co packing” company to bag all of our nutrients. This means they receive our products in bulk, put it into our packaging, and send it to our distributor who handles the making.

During our last round they made a mistake and packed the “combos” using the same size bags. We are talking 1000s of them..

The cost of having 1000s of kgs removed from our distributor, sent back to the co packers and repackaged, re boxed, sent back, etc, far outweighed the cost of just taking a bit of a loss on the extra bit of Part B included.

So actually, you are getting double the amount of Part B for free.. Once these packages run out we will go back to double the size bag of A and change the website description back.

You aren’t the first one to ask us about this!

The great thing about Strive is that after the first week or two and your plants are established, you can continue to use Strive at full strength until it’s time to flush.

We have 12 week instructions on our bags to demonstrate a typical 4 week veg and 8 week flower. Going longer in either veg or flower, you would just keep it at full strength.

When it comes to fertilizing mother plants, this will depend on a couple of things. First will be how fast you want them to grow, and second will be how powerful of a light you are using.

The more light and more nutrients you feed them, the faster they will grow. If you are trying to produce a ton of cuttings, then you will want to hit them with strong light and full strength Strive.

If you are just trying to maintain them and not have them get out of control, and/or using fluorescent lights, you could try between ¼ and ½ strength and see how they like it. If they are healthy but still growing too fast, lighten up on the nutes. If they seem to be light in color or showing any deficiency, give them a bit more.

A: Strive has built in PH buffers and will bring your PH right to 5.8-6.2, normally.

Now, if you have hard water, high ppm tap, or some other unusual aspect of your starting water then this might change things.

If you are keeping a res long term, there may be a PH swing in either direction.. This also has to do with your starting water.

Every water source will interact differently over time.. You should be checking your PH in your res often when switching to any new nutrient brand, and learning how the swing will go to be able to adjust properly.

In normal circumstances there will not be any wild swings, and Strive will balance itself nicely, but we do need to throw out the disclaimer not to just leave it and trust that will happen.

How Strive flows through drip lines was very important to us when creating our formula.

One of the most common “filler” agents other companies use is simply just sugar. Companies use this because they do not want their fertilizer to be too strong. They want you to buy more!

Sugar slimes up over time, causing weird froth in holding tanks, and ultimately is a sticky mess inside Drip lines. We did not go down this road.

Strive is a pure blend of very water soluble powder. If a small pellet falls on a concrete floor and is left there, it will eventually turn to a little drop of liquid simply by absorbing a tiny amount of moisture from the concrete!

At the moment we have ran out of our sample sizes, and realistically it will be a bit to get the packaging in with the supply chain issues going on right now.. probably next year.

That said, what we have been doing for this looking for samples is just offering 50% on their first order.

Strive is a fact acting, extremely water soluble powder. This means that when added to water, even if unstirred, eventually it will fully dissolve.

If you were to drop a bit of Strive on a concrete floor, it would turn into water droplets just from absorbing a tiny bit of moisture from the concrete.

Temperature does play a role when it comes to the absorption or fertilizer into water. Generally speaking, the warmer the water the faster it will dissolve.

What most people don’t know is that this is the same for liquid fertilizer. Liquid fertilizer is essentially powder that has water added and is pre bottled for you. When you dump this concentrated liquid into water to mix, you don't actually see the mix happening.

However, the elements in the nutrients still need to bond to the elements in your source water, and this takes the same amount of time as if it were powder, it’s just not visible to the naked eye.

Switching from Strive to Advanced will save you time, money, and is better for the environment. You will be supporting a local run business, as opposed to a massive corporation that has been misleading growers for years.

The main difference is that you will be switching from a company that tries to sell you up to 15 different products, when the same or better results can come from just 2.

You are paying for their marketing, and paying for their logistics of having to package and ship around an enormous amount of water (their nutrient bottles are 99.9% water).

Ask yourself this… why do they need to split their NPK into 15 different bottles and make you mix it yourself? The answer: they want you to buy more products, have more problems, and then buy more products to fix the problems they created themselves. At Strive we are growers too, and everything we do is to help fellow growers, not fleece them out of money they don’t need to spend.

A: In order to see how many litres of water Strive does let’s first look at the mixing ratio of 1000g of Strive:

Now, we can see that Part A and Part B have different mixing ratios, essentially a bag of Part B will last a bit longer than A. But for our example let's look at Part A…

15mL or Strive Part A weighs 13 grams and that will do 10L at full strength.

There are 1000 grams in the package, so 1000/13 = 77 x 10L = 770L of nutrient mixed water.

Part B we would double that and it will make 1540L of nutrient mixed water.

Does that make sense?

Strive is a general use fertilizer that will work great both indoors and outdoors. In fact, we have seen some absolutely STELLAR results outdoors last testing season.

How and when to use Strive outdoor would depend on a couple of different variables. These could be the weather (amount of rain), strain, autos vs photos, in pots or in the ground, etc..

We can look at a few examples.

One of our BIG outdoor clients grows in the ground, in his normal soil, and uses Strive at full strength once per week. This not only adds nutrients the plants need, but also balances the PH of the soil from irrigating with pond water.

Another grower uses 100gal pots with promix. He uses Strive at full strength every watering, similar to indoors as promix has no natural nutrients.

A third example is a grower that uses a store bought “super soil”. He uses Strive as an additive and gives it a half strength dose every so often, or if he sees the plants are craving nutrients he hits them a couple full doses in a row.

This all depends on your personal situation and grow style, but I am here to help along the way and solve any problems that may arise.

We recommend starting at around 50% and working up. On our label we say 50% for the first week, then kick it into high gear and go full from then on out.

This works from some growers, but not others. Different factors affect a plant's absorption of nutrients.

Room temperature, strength of light, Co2 level, even down to the strain. In the end you need to adjust for your specific garden.

Keep an eye on the plants. If you see burnt tips, try easing back a bit on the PPM.. if you see the plants look a little light in color or deficient, you can increase and see if that helps.

It’s hard to estimate how many plants a small combo of Strive would do.

The thing is, you could veg 25 plants for 1 week then flip to flower, or you could veg 1 plant for 25 weeks and flip to flower, and maybe use the same amount.

If we wanted to generalize, we could look at a 4 plant tent grow with a 3 week veg.. A small combo pack of Strive would last about 6 full grows.. So roughly a year and a half.

Does that make sense?

PPM/EC/TDS is sort of strain/pheno dependent. Different plants will respond better to different TDS.

Generally speaking, when mixed with normal city tap water, at full strength Strive will come out to around 1100ppm (+/- 100ppm).. This could change based on the mineral makeup of your base water, and we have seen some readings come out as high as 1600ppm.. It’s just how the minerals in Strive react to the minerals in your water.

What we suggest is to listen to your plants. Use your TDS meter to keep track and measure, but don’t base your feedings from it at the start.

Start at full strength (after a couple of weeks from seed) and see how they react. If you see they have burnt tips, then your particular strain/seed/garden/environment or whatever it is doesn’t want the PPM that high.. You can ease it back a bit until you see new growth with no burning.

If you see that they are light in color, have a deficiency, or just look like they want more, then hit them with some extra and see if they burn or not.

Eventually, you will know where your desired TDS is for your garden with Strive, and you can use your meter to keep it there.

Health Canada doesn’t have any regulations around which fertilizer you are allowed to use for cannabis with regards to micro and LP licenses.

Their focus is about what is safe for consumption for consumers. They are looking at things like pesticides and mold content.

There is a registration list that Health Canada has for fertilizers, but 90% of all fertilizers in Canada are exempt from it. This is mainly for companies importing their base ingredients from overseas, ours come from Canadian sources.

There is no excess heavy metals in Strive. Keep in mind that all fertilizer will have some heavy metals, and that plants need them.

For example, Zinc is a heavy metal. Zinc is a necessary building block of your plants and in all fertilizers. It’s about the content of the Zinc compared to other minerals, and how much would remain in the plant cells.

Strive does not have excess Zinc or any other HMs

Strive will work across all growing mediums, both solid and hydroponic. If you want to keep things simple, and have the best results we suggest going with a straight Promix, making sure it doesn't have any additives or fertilizers in it.

First and foremost, if your water source is coming out at over 200pm you really should be using an RO system if you want the best results. The calcium coming from hard water is different than water soluble calcium in fertilizers.. Its not a substitute.

That said.. Plants love calcium, and unless your water is really bad, you should’t have any issues using Strive at full strength.

The great thing about Strive is that with its 2 parts, it's highly adjustable. Part B has all the calcium, while Part A has none. So, if you were seeing effects of overuse of calcium you could lower Part B to solve it.
